At Robin’s Nest Comics, we believe comics should be for everyone. But we also know that certain kinds of comics are given more mainstream focus, and certain fans treated as ‘truer’ than others.
We don’t believe in that.
Our core values are diversity, representation and accessibility.
We think that all fans deserve equal respect and that everybody should be able to see themselves reflected in the comics that they buy.
We do our best to focus on and highlight characters and creators of colour, those who are disabled, female, and those who fall on the LGBT spectrum. We do this to help balance out against mainstream comic stores that continually push the same characters over and over.
We also believe that comics shops should be open and welcoming for newcomers. We understand that the history of comics can be really daunting, and nobody can be expected to know everything. We’re happy to give recommendations, but we won’t be pushy about it. It’s important to us that you read what you want, not what other people say you should be reading!
We've been operating online and on market stalls since 2014, and we're very happy to finally have our own bricks and mortar stall in Aberystwyth, Wales, as of October 2016.
